Best beach villas in Sicily for 2024

Beach hungry? Around 95% of our 2024 villas in Sicily are within a 15-minute drive of the nearest beach, and many feature direct access to the beach, through the garden gate or along a private path. Better still, many of our beachfront villas also have a private pool.

When should I book?

So when is the optimum time to book your villa and which one is best for you? Timing is going to depend largely on how constrained you are by dates. If you’re limited to booking a week or two in August, then the sooner you book the better. Whatever the size, seafront villas with a pool are always the first to get snapped up. If, however, you have a little more flexibility and can holiday, say, in the months of May and June, then there’s probably less of a rush unless you’re set on a specific villa on a particular week.

Your villa choice is going to be down to several factors, including who you’re holidaying with and your specific interests. Holidaying with young children? Keep your journey time to the beach as short as possible. Interested in day trips from the coast to the mountains? Pick a villa near Cefalù for easy access to the Madonie mountains or around Capo d’Orlando to visit the hideaway villages of the Nebrodi mountains. Read on to discover six of our favourite seafront and coastal villas for 2024.

With a small pool and a garden gate on to pebbly Costa Turchina beach, Aqua Turchina is an excellent choice for families. As well as a pool, the 4-bedroom seafront villa has table tennis, an outdoor kitchen and plenty of open space for the kids to play in. There’s even a 2-person kayak for them to paddle around on the translucent water!

Top tip: Enjoy an evening aperitivo on the private decking on the beach while the children take their last swim of the day.

Best for couples

Join forces with two other couples for a classic sun and sand holiday. At Villa Carlotta, step through the garden gate on to a beach which tends to stay quiet even in the peak summer months. There’s also a private pool and a private decked area on the beach, with an umbrella and sun beds, for the exclusive use of the villa guests. When you fancy a change of scene or an evening out, head 15kms along the motorway to buzzy Cefalù.

Top tip: Sneak off up on to the roof terrace to soak in the hot tub and gaze out along the beach.

Sicily’s best beaches

If superb sandy beaches and stunning sea views top your list of ‘can’t do withouts’, you’ll love Dedalo, which, with sweeping sea-facing terraces, lawns and a private path down to the water’s edge, means you’re never far from a view of the sea. Most of the rooms in the recently constructed single-storey 4-bedroom villa feature large picture windows or sliding glass doors that flood the villa with light and lead on to a sea view balcony that encircles much of the property.

A short drive from Sciacca, the villa is also close to a string of mainly sandy beaches, including tranquil Capo San Marco where you’ll find white sands, translucent water and breathtaking coastal views. Along the coast, there are more sandy beaches and crystal-clear water at Portopalo di Menfi and the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve.

Top tip: Visit two of the island’s most spectacular ancient attractions, the Valley of the Temples and the Temple of Selinunte.

Best for nature

Stay close to the Vendicari Nature Reserve if you like the idea of exploring some of Sicily’s untouched wilder beaches. Hovering on the edge of the reserve, and just 200m from the beach, Oasivera is a stylish 5-bedroom villa with sea views and magnificent gardens dotted with palm trees and overlooked by a spacious covered veranda. When you need a moment of quiet reflection, climb the spiral staircase to the roof terrace where you’ll get spectacular 360° views of the sea and nature reserve.

Enjoy daily hikes in the nature reserve, a protected natural oasis that attracts migratory birds and other wildlife, stopping in one of its tiny coves or beaches for a dip in spectacularly clear water.

Top tip: The reserve features several stunning beaches, including the best-known crescent shaped Calamosche beach.

Dreamy sea views

Under 15 minutes by car from several beaches along Sicily’s north coast, Nefele is a stylish 4-bedroom villa with extraordinary views over the Tyrrhenian Sea and the dramatic Aeolian Islands. Outside, an elegant summer kitchen and dining area, an infinity pool and shady lawns provide plenty of excuses for not venturing further than the front gate, but when you do step outside, you’ll find yourself just a short drive from the seaside resort of Capo d’Orlando, and a selection of beaches with crystal clear water and lido-style facilities.
