Ideal for two families, 6-bedroom Villa Geranio has a stunning pool with views over the Nebrodi mountains, volleyball and, tucked away in a stone-walled outhouse, a jacuzzi spa area. With accommodation split over two floors, with a living room and kitchen on both levels, each family can be comfortably independent. Outside, there are spacious terraces and a porticoed dining area for the hottest summer months.
The villa is situated close to Acquedolci on the north east coast, so ideally placed for days on the beach or for exploring the hidden villages of the Nebrodi mountains. The coastal town of Tindari, the site of a former Greek-Roman settlement, is also nearby.
Take the grandparents
If you like the idea of treating a set of grandparents to a holiday in the sun, Villa Biancolilla may be what you’re looking for. The 5-bedroom villa makes holiday living very easy for larger groups or extended families, thanks to a self-contained mini suite. The contemporary villa is set over three floors, with the bottom floor comprising a mini suite with a double bed, shower room and small relaxation area, accessible from inside the villa or the garden. There are four further bedrooms and a spacious landscaped garden with an infinity pool, overlooked by large terraces with a dining area and lounge-style seating.
Take your pick of beaches, at the seaside town of Castellammare del Golfo, at nearby Guidaloca or along the fringes of the Zingaro Nature Reserve. Other local attractions include the Greek site of Segesta and the saltpans at Trapani.
Family villa with pool
For anyone looking for a classic fly and flop holiday, Villa Ananda ticks all the boxes. Less than an hour from Palermo airport, this comfortable 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom villa is a great option for a family break. With views from the terrace across the countryside to the sea, and a lovely 10m pool, the villa is perfectly situated for exploring the north west corner of Sicily.
Spend your days relaxing on the beaches around Castellammare del Golfo, then in the evening leave the car behind and wander into Scopello for a pizza and ice-cream.
