Situated between the coast and the charming town of Scicli in the heart of south east Sicily, Villa Marigù is an excellent value-for-money choice for large gatherings of families and friends. The gorgeous beaches that hug this stretch of coastline are less than 3km away and the fascinating baroque towns of Modica and Ragusa also close by. Outside, spacious verandas with sea views overlook a private pool, while inside, the eight bedrooms and living space provide simple but comfortable holiday living.
Set on two floors, the villa is surrounded on the garden level and first floor by expansive terraces. Enjoy al fresco meals under the shade of the awning and gaze out across the pool and lawn while the children play on the swings and slide. There is also a table football – guaranteed to be a hit with all the family! A barbecue corner with a hob, kitchen cupboards and dining area provides a welcome space for preparing meals outdoors.
The interiors are modestly but pleasantly furnished. Downstairs, the living space comprises areas for dining and a cosy den with an L-shaped sofa and giant squashy floor cushions. Leading off from the living room, there is a modern kitchen, with dishwasher, and a bathroom with shower. Bedrooms are bright and airy, some with access to the garden, others leading on to the upstairs terrace. Of the total 8 bedrooms, 6 are doubles, 1 twin and 1 with a small double bed. Seven of the bedrooms have their own bathroom with shower. There is also one outdoor bathroom.

The area
The nearest beach is a short drive away at Arizza, with more sandy shores available at Donnalucata (10 min) where the gently shelving water is ideal for families, and, slightly further to the west, Playa Grande and Marina di Ragusa. The beach of Punta Secca is best known for the house used in the TV series of Montalbano. To the east of Arizza, the seaside hamlet of Sampieri has a lovely 2km long beach with lido-style facilities, surrounded by pine forest.
The villa is equidistant to Donnalucata and Scicli. Donnalucata has a good selection of restaurants, local shops, supermarkets and a bank. As the smallest of the UNESCO-listed Baroque towns of the region, Scicli is also one of the most attractive. Visit the clustered cave dwellings on the slopes above the town and take a stroll along Via Penna, lined with Baroque palaces and churches. The town hall in Scicli was used as the fictional police station in the Montalbano series.
The two other jewels of south east Sicily are Ragusa and Modica, both an easy drive from Scicli. Make tracks for Ragusa Ibla, the town’s historic centre, to wander through its lively winding lanes and enjoy dinner at one of the many street-facing restaurants. In Modica, the sights are more spread around town. Start with the magnificent Chiesa di San Giorgio and make sure you leave time to taste the town’s famous chocolate.

09-09-2023 -No words are enough to describe the wonderful week we spent here at this Villa. Rosalinda is the best host anyone can ever wish for, she was always there for us not just for whatever we needed but also guided us to places to visit and where it is best to eat. The Villa is perfect in everyway, it has all the amenities one can ever need, with breath taking views, wonderful sunsets and only 4 mins drive from 2 supermarkets and 7 mins drive from Scicli centre. Everything is close by but one is still in a tranquil environment surrounded by the countryside. The Villa was very clean and well kept. Rosalinda truly made us feel at home. We will surely consider revisiting this place. We highly recommend booking this Villa if you are after an unforgettable stay.

17-08-2023 -Siamo stati ospiti della struttura ad agosto 2023. Esperienza fantastica, la villa è dotata di tutti i comfort, molto pulita e ben organizzata, gli spazi esterni sono meravigliosi. Anche la posizione è ottima, a pochi minuti dal centro di Scicli e dal mare. Rosalinda e suo marito sono stati favolosi, dall'accoglienza fino alla nostra partenza si sono resi disponibili e sono stati degli host impeccabili.

17-07-2023 -We were 3 adults, 5 teenagers and 2 children so a wide range of ages. The villa was perfect in that it catered for all of us, having a large pool, the outdoor space and plenty of seating inside. There are toys and games provided too. It is beautiful inside and out - nothing is shabby, it was extremely clean and the views amazing. The host is lovely - she provided a platter of food and drink to welcome us and a couple of times when she came to collect bins she brought Italian cakes and bread. She was very responsive on WhatsApp. Location-wise it is a great spot to explore (by car) South and South East of Sicily- quick to get onto main roads. Scicli was our favourite (only a few minutes drive) for wandering, eating etc. And Marina di Ragusa the best for busy beaches with bars, shops, activities etc. We did also walk to the beach from the villa and found by accident a cute section, very suitable for children, with a little wooden bar and a few beds on our way to Donnalucata. Great villa. Great holiday. Note: the villa is not easy to find. I strongly advise asking for a shared Google maps pin before going.
