Characterised by traditional stone walls and immersed in a spectacular natural setting, the rustic villa overlooks a series of landscaped terraces and a beautiful infinity pool. With ample sun beds and a shaded pergola alongside the pool, there’s plenty of space to spread out and soak up the sun. And overlooking the pool, a main terrace with table tennis and an outdoor dining area where you can linger over memorable al fresco meals together, pleasantly shaded from the heat of the sun.
The villa is designed around a central living space, with two bright communal areas - a large kitchen-dining area, and a living room. With direct access to the main terrace, the well equipped kitchen is furnished with all mod cons and plenty of storage space, in addition to a central island with bar stools and a separate dining area for 12. The light-filled terracotta tiled living room has French windows to the terrace and provides ample seating for large groups.
The central living space connects two wings which house the 7 air conditioned bedrooms. In the left wing, accessed from the living room, there are two double ensuite bedrooms, one with a small terrace overlooking the pool.
In the right wing, a corridor leads from the kitchen to the remaining 5 bedrooms. All the bedrooms are attractively furnished, with masses of light, and some featuring original stone walls. Of the 5, 4 have ensuite bathrooms and 3 of these have pool views. The fifth bedroom is a smaller room with 2 single beds (converts to a double). There are 2 additional toilets, one on this corridor and another by the pool.

The area
You’ll find a good selection of shops, bars, pizzerie and restaurants in nearby Scicli (around 10 minutes by car), a town which remains slightly under the radar compared to neighbouring Ragusa and Modica. Scicli is the heart of Montalbano’s world, home to the TV detective’s fictional police station.
Although enveloped by the greenery of rural Sicily, the villa is in prime position for exploring several of the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage baroque towns of southeast Sicily, including Ragusa and Modica. Alternatively, head inland to the rather off the beaten track town of Palazzolo Acreide where you’ll find more captivating baroque architecture, or across to Syracuse on the east coast for a fascinating introduction to Greek and Roman history.
It’s less than 20 minutes in the car to get to the coast and once there, you’ll find numerous beaches to choose from. Scicli’s main beach resort, Cava d’Aliga, is made up of a mix of golden sandy beaches and craggy reefs, all fringed by wonderfully clear water. Other beaches of note include Punta Secca, Marina di Ragusa and Donnalucata heading west and Sampieri and Santa Maria del Focallo to the east. When you want to venture further afield, don’t miss the stunning beaches around Portopalo di Capo Passero at the most southeasterly tip of Sicily.

05-04-2024 -Casale degli Ulivi è una splendida location nelle campagne di Scicli. Oasi di pace e relax dalla quale poter comunque raggiungere facilmente le zone di mare e i caratteristici paesini in zona. La struttura è stupenda, curata nei minimi dettagli. Le stanze spaziose e molto comode! la cucina molto comoda con elettrodomestici per ogni esigenza. Il forno a legna esterno molto comodo per chi in comitiva come noi, ha il piacere di organizzare la cena per tutti. Spazi esterni dotati di tutti i comfort e affacciati su una splendida cava. Settimana goduta fino all’ultimo istante!

20-03-2024 -We found this amazing villa in the beautiful surrounding by a complete coincidence. We had rented a villa for two weeks near the sea but it was very bad standard and not good value so we searched around and found Oriana’s villa, Casale degli Ulivi. From the moment she answered our phone until the moment we left Oriana and her husband were the epitome of hospitality. The villa was gorgeous, brand new and tastefully decorated. They were there hands on to cater to anything we needed or asked for. They are the loveliest couple who really put in so much effort to give the guests an unforgettable stay in the country side. During our stay we ran into some personal issues. My son got sick and needed a doctor and since we didn’t speak Italian, Oriana helped us with everything and called the specialist that she knew despite it being a holiday. Then our dog needed vaccine to return to Norway and once again Oriana was to the rescue:) And finally in the most stressful moment where we lost the battery to our car and couldn't drive all the way back to Norway, Oriana called everyone she knew to find us that particular battery for our Tesla. without her we would not be able to drive home. She never sounded annoyed or disturbed but on the contrary, she was always so happy and so invested to help:) We absolutely love the house and all its modern amenities and would come back for sure BUT most of all we will come back because we know we are in excellent hands with Oriana.
