Overlooking a lovely pool and garden, this comfortable family villa is set a short drive from the enchanting town of Noto in south east Sicily. The villa is ideally located for relaxing days on the superb local beaches and for exploring the baroque towns of the magnificent Val di Noto.
At the heart of the garden is an attractive pool, with broad steps which makes it easily accessible for young children, overlooked by a patio where you can relax back and watch the kids. A large furnished veranda to the side of the villa will ensure you enjoy maximum time outside, either on the lounge-style sofa and armchairs, or dining al fresco under the shaded pergola.
The air-conditioned villa is set on one floor, with stylish interiors that provide plenty of space and attractive accommodation for all the family. Striking French windows lead from the garden into the open plan living space which encompasses a lounge area at one end and a kitchen at the other. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a complete range of smaller utensils such as a blender, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The dining area, with a table for five, and a pretty dresser, is in the middle of the room, with lovely garden views.
The 3 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 single) lead off from the main corridor. One of the double bedrooms has an en suite bathroom, and there is a second bathroom with shower.

The area
Surrounded by the traditional dry stone walls and rural landscape of south east Sicily, a holiday at Malena is as much about exploring the island’s baroque treasures as spending leisurely days on some of its best beaches. Situated just 15 minutes from the centre of Noto, it is perfectly placed for both.
Choose from a selection of local beaches, the nearest one just 10kms away. At Lido di Noto, you’ll find fine, white sand and dazzling blue sea, as well as a small café. Alternatively, head to the small seaside resort of Fontane Bianche where sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire and the gently shelving water is ideal for young children.
Less commercialised, the gorgeous crescent-shaped bay of sand at Calamosche, on the edge of the Vendicari Nature Reserve, is also worth a visit, but do take provisions as there are few facilities here. If you’re holidaying with teenagers, or other adults, we also recommend the Cavagrande del Cassibile Nature Reserve where sparkling streams cascade down the walls of canyons into refreshing pools below. However, this is not suitable for young children.
The villa’s location will leave you spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the superb baroque architecture of the Val di Noto. Start with the nearest, the lovely town of Noto, and also Palazzolo Acreide which tends to be less popular with tourists. Modica, Ragusa and the extraordinary city of Syracuse also within easy reach.
