The 6-bedroom villa with infinity pool is situated just 7km from Marina di Ragusa and Donnalucata on Sicily’s south east coast, making it equally well placed for a beach holiday or for exploring the extraordinary baroque towns of Modica, Ragusa and Scicli.
The garden perfectly reflects the landscape, with views that stretch across a patchwork of olive trees and green fields crisscrossed by dry stone walls, towards the sea. Tiered terraces, with sunbeds shaded by gently fluttering canopies, overlook the stunning infinity pool, while a sheltered barbecue corner and sink provide the ultimate outdoor kitchen with a view!
The villa comprises two separate buildings, with blue-shuttered windows and doors, tiled terraces and a scattering of small tables and chairs. In the first of the two buildings, the contemporary veranda-style living space is furnished with sofas and has spectacular views through floor to ceiling retractable glass doors on three sides. Dine al fresco, overlooking the pool and sea, from the shaded terrace, which runs the length of the building and can be accessed directly from the kitchen. The attractive kitchen, with a second dining table, features traditional Sicilian tiled flooring and a high beamed ceiling. The building also includes a toilet, utility room and one double bedroom (with independent outside access) with bathroom.
The second building comprises 5 double bedrooms, all with bathrooms. Brightly-painted blue doors lead from the outside terrace into four adjacent bedrooms. A fifth bedroom, also with its own independent outside access, has an interconnecting door with one of the four rooms, providing a convenient option for a family with two children. Bedrooms are bright and airy, with lofty vaulted ceilings, and decorated in crisp whites and soft shades of powder blue. The spacious rooms are elegantly furnished, with antique Sicilian furniture and featuring rustic stone walls and wooden flooring. Original features have also been retained in the bathrooms, set alongside contemporary fittings.

The area
The villa is within easy driving distance of some superb beaches, including those at Marina di Ragusa, Cava d’Aliga and Sampieri and several of the beaches between Marina di Ragusa and Pozzallo have received the prestigious ‘Bandiera Blu’ seal of approval. The sandy beach at Donnalucata is generally quieter than Marina di Ragusa and its gently shelving water makes it ideal for families with younger children. For Montalbano fans, the fictional detective’s iconic beachfront home is a short drive away at Punta Secca.
You’ll find plenty of local shops, bars and restaurants at either Marina di Ragusa, or Donnalucata where you can also buy the catch of the day directly from the fishermen in the little port.
Alternatively, head inland to the UNESCO-protected towns of Ragusa Ibla and Modica for some memorable baroque art and architecture, and an excellent selection of restaurants. Although smaller, the town of Scicli is also very charming and highly recommended. It is also, of course, home to the fictional police station in the Montalbano series.
Slightly further afield, Noto and Palazzolo Acreide are also UNESCO World Heritage sites, while at Ispica, you can take a pleasant stroll through the leafy gorge at Le Cave d’Ispica.

29-10-2023 -Wir waren für eine Woche im Oktober 2023 mit 12 Personen (6 Erwachsene & 6 Jugendliche/Kinder) in diesem wunderbaren Haus im Südosten Siziliens. Luigi und seine Frau sind wunderbare, hilfreiche und zugleich zurückhaltende Gastgeber. Positive Aspekte: - Großartig renoviertes Landhaus. - Alleinlage mit sensationellem Blick ins Tal und aufs Meer. - Perfekt gelegen zwischen Ragussa, Scicli, Marina di Ragussa und Donnalucata. - Großes, gepflegtes Grundstück. - Herrlicher Pool Bereich. - 6 gemütliche Schlafzimmer jeweils mit eigenem Bad. - Gut ausgestattete, moderne Küche. - Grandiose, hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Negative Aspekte: - Die Landstrasse mit leichtem Verkehr führt direkt am Haus vorbei. (Hat uns aber nicht gestört). Fazit: Wir können Ferien in diesem Haus absolut empfehlen. Haus und Grundstück sind so großzügig, dass auch 12 Personen bequem Platz haben. Luigi, seine Frau und Matteo haben sich gekümmert, viele Tipps gegeben und waren einfach herrliche Gastgeber. Wir kommen wieder.

17-07-2023 -Abbiamo trascorso una vacanza in famiglia, arrivati da diverse parti del mondo, in questa splendida casa! Appena entrati, é stato amore a prima vista. Una casa super curata nei minimi dettagli dai suoi proprietari con amore e dedizione (e si sente!). Luigi e sua moglie ci hanno accolto con molta simpatia e cordialità. Sono sempre stati disponibili per ogni nostra esigenza, richiesta, domanda... hanno saputo consigliarci posti strategici da visitare che valorizzano questo bellissimo territorio. Le camere sono molto confortevoli, dotate di bellissimi bagni e aria condizionata 😅. La casa ha una vista mozzafiato e anche una piscina bellissima. Abbiamo fatto barbecue con tavolata esterna, ammirando il panorama e la privacy che la casa ci offre. Grazie di tutto!! É stata una vacanza da non dimenticare.

22-07-2022 -What a perfect place! And the nicest host/owner of the property, Luigi. We had a wonderful week, with lots of space for two families with 4 adults/7 children. The pool area is super nice, with reclining area with shadow, and a beatiful infinity pool. The outdoor dining table, overlooking the surroundings, was a supreme social arena every evening. All the rooms has private bathroom, and the beds where of good quality. The place it self is unique, and even better than the pictures. There is nothing to fear - book a week here, and relax in the most beatiful place you can imagine!
