Description
Situated in the countryside around Buseto Palazzolo, Casa di Menta sits amongst pine, olive and almond trees, in the gently rolling hills around western Sicily. San Vito Lo Capo sandy beach, Trapani, Erice and the Zingaro Nature Reserve are all close by and the archaeological sites of Segesta and Selinunte a little further away.
The villa looks directly out over the pool which is surrounded by sunbathing terraces and an attractive, rosemary and lavender-filled garden that has views over the surrounding countryside. The covered terrace has a dining table and a fabulous tiled outdoor kitchen and there is a second terrace, with great views, on the first floor.
Inside, the rooms are bright and unfussy, characterised by terracotta tiled floors and large windows, with antique wooden furniture. On the ground floor, the large open-plan living area comprises a spacious kitchen and dining area and a roomy, well-furnished lounge.
There are four double bedrooms, three on the ground floor and the fourth on the first floor, each with its own bathroom. An additional sitting room , with kitchenette, on the first floor, makes the villa an ideal choice for families with teenagers or grandparents who may want some additional privacy.

The area
The house is situated near Buseto Palizzolo, in the countryside close to Trapani and Erice.
The town of Trapani, most famous in recent times for having hosted the 8th and 9th Acts of the Louis Vuitton Cup, part of the Americas Cup, boasts a long history full of myths and legends and it’s well connected by cable car to Erice, a Mediaeval hill-top town with superb panoramic views.
In both Erice and Trapani guests can find shops, bars and restaurants, and a short drive away, the historical centre of Marsala is definitely worth a visit for taking a tour of the local wineries. The charming village and rocky coves of Scopello, the long sandy beach at San Vito, the Zingaro nature reserve and the saltpans in Paceco are also within a short drive.
Definitely “not to be missed” are the stunning Greek temples at Segesta and Selinunte. A day trip to the Aegadian archipelagos is a "must".

25-10-2021 -We stayed at Casa di Menta late October. The weather was still very nice, and the pool was still open (we did ask for it because we have four boys who like to swim). The villa has enough space; three large bedrooms, each with a bathroom. A big kitchen with a basics already supplied as well as an outdoor kitchen. Nice for bbq’s. And at night, when it was cold and the kids were asleep, we lighted the fireplace. Best of the villa is it’s owner: Pietro. He gave us lots of suggestions for activities, places to have lunch / diner and beaches to relax and enjoy the sun and the sea. Therefore I really recommend the villa, for young and old!

23-09-2020 -Villa raffinata e dotata di ogni comfort. Piscina favolosa. Carissimo Pietro, grazie ancora di aver potuto soggiornare in questo splendido luogo e di avere avuto l'occasione di conoscere questa terra e gente favolosa. Un'abbraccio, Martin e Inessa

18-09-2018 -We had a wonderful time at this fantastic villa. The facilities were spot on esp the pool, bbq terrace and not forgetting the hammock. We all had such a fun and relaxing time and Pietro was a perfect host. Thank you Pietro!

19-06-2018 -Lovely villa with beautiful pool. Stunning views slightly marred by large pylon. Bonus was having all four bedrooms en-suite. Pietro, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do in the area.

10-09-2016 -Pietro made us feel very welcome the moment we arrived. The house is huge, with what is essentially a separate flat with it's own double bedroom, en-suite bathroom, kitchen/living room (with beautiful view) and it's own upstairs terrace. Downstairs is huge with the other x3 bedrooms and bathrooms, living room, outdoor terrace & big kitchen. We stayed as a family of 5 adults and 3 children and had loads of space. The pool is lovely, and the view from the house stunning. The wifi works really well. Pietro showed us where to buy local groceries and wine, and was very helpful with any other questions we had, especially to do with exploring the local area. Buseto Palizzolo is a small sleepy town, with a very good local restaurant/pizzeria and a good take away pizzeria too. The house is in a sleepy olive grove where you can pick lemons and figs. Paradise. Thank you Pietro, we shall return!
