The Sun newspaper’s travel editor, Lisa Minot, soaked up the sun and the glorious surroundings at our villa Ad Astra last September and wrote a fabulous article about the area and merits of holidaying in Sicily in September. This is when the crowds have gone, the sea is at its warmest and temperatures are still hovering in the high 20’s.

Ad Astra is located in the seaside town of Finale di Pollina on Sicily’s north coast. Lisa describes several of the local highlights, including the hilltop village of Pollina and the wonderful medieval town of Cefalù. There was also time to relax, by the pool or on the beach, and take advantage of the paddle boards and snorkel gear provided by the villa owners. And when it came to eating out, there was the choice of the local family-run restaurant at the Beach Club Costa Turchina or buying provisions or eating out in Finale di Pollina.
