Looking for a place to stay in Sicily? A private pool, sea view and the luxury of strolling across to the beach are just a few of the most important criteria for our guests when selecting a villa, while games rooms, outdoor kitchens and wood-burning pizza ovens are priorities for others. Yet while everyone has their own specific preferences and requirements, several of our villas always seem to top the charts, snapped up year after year by the early birds. So if you are considering a trip to Sicily and planning on booking a peak season week in a coastal villa with a pool, our advice is to book sooner rather than later!
Once you have made the decision to take your holiday here, you may need advice on the best areas to stay in Sicily. While our coastal villas are always extremely popular, some of the best places to stay in Sicily are inland, close to the dramatic Madonie and Nebrodi mountains, on the wine-growing slopes of Mount Etna or in the countryside that surrounds the UNESCO World Heritage towns of the Val di Noto in Sicily’s south east.
In the north west of the island, Scopello and the Gulf of Castellammare are both charming spots in Sicily, within easy reach of excellent sandy beaches and the fascinating Greek sites of Segesta and Selinunte. The villas in this area are also conveniently close to Palermo and the Norman cathedral at Monreale, one of the most remarkable – and beautiful - places in Sicily.
