Amidst all the heartache and anxiety that has accompanied 2020, many of us have recognised the important place holidays hold in our lives. Exactly what we miss is, of course, hugely personal. It may be as simple as the warmth of the sun or a break in routine. While for others, it could be the pleasure of exploring new places, eating different food and experiencing another culture.<\/p>\n

Which is where Syracuse<\/a><\/strong> steps in! As Anna discovered, this fascinating city somehow manages to tick every box, over-delivering on the culture front but also offering lazy sunny afternoons on nearby beaches or on Ortigia\u2019s swimming platforms, right through to early October. The food scene in Syracuse also lived up to expectation<\/strong> \u2013 read about some of its culinary gems, including the outstanding picnicking opportunities and dining places in Ortigia\u2019s food market.<\/p>\n

Anna and her family stayed at Casa a Ortigia<\/a><\/strong>, a 2-bedroom apartment, with roof terrace, situated on the waterfront on Ortigia. Situated just across the road from a sunbathing platform, and a short walk to the nearest beach, Casa a Ortigia is ideal for 2 couples or a family looking to combine a city break with exploring the fascinating south east corner of Sicily.<\/strong><\/p>\n
