Be one of the first to stay in super-stylish Villa Idda.

We are delighted to introduce recently-restored Villa Idda, brand new to Sicily’s rental market and a great choice for anyone looking to experience a more authentic villa holiday in Sicily. The luxury villa is situated on Sicily’s east coast, close to the beaches along the dramatic Riviera dei Ciclopi and within easy reach of Catania, Taormina and Mount Etna.

Set amongst the orange groves that surround the small seaside town of Acireale on Sicily’s east coast, the extremely stylish Villa Idda is composed of two separate structures, offering 360° views over a landscaped garden via vast picture windows. Interiors are distinguished by smooth, cool, stone surfaces in perfectly coordinated neutral hues, with highlights including a striking double-height lounge, a music room with a piano, games room and a sleek master bedroom with sunken bath.  Outside, there is a small pool and several covered verandas and terraces furnished with recliners, bench seating and traditional dining furniture.

The villa is in a great position for visiting Sicily’s best-known and most spectacular carnival, in the small seaside town of Acireale.  Dating back to the 16th century, and attracting thousands of visitors to the spectacular parades and processions of allegorical floats through the town’s baroque historic centre, the carnival (18-28 February 2017) is the ultimate excuse for a Sicily holiday.

It is also very well located if you are interested in food and wine. Ask us about combining a trip to fascinating Mount Etna with a vineyard visit on the slopes of the volcano.  You can also experience Sicilian food at first hand in nearby Catania where we now offer street food tours that take in Sicily’s largest fish market and the best hideaway eating spots amongst the alleyways and piazzas of the city’s historic centre. The 3-hour small-group guided tours cost €47pp, inclusive of food tastings.
